Plumb Tools history: established in Philadelphia, has a notable history in the tool manufacturing industry. The company, initially known as Fayette R. Plumb, Inc., was founded in the mid-19th century by Fayette R. Plumb. The company became renowned for producing high-quality hand tools, particularly axes, hammers, and hatchets.

Plumb Tools gained a reputation for durability and craftsmanship, becoming a trusted name among carpenters, builders, and tradesmen. In the early 20th century, the company expanded its product line and continued to innovate in tool design and manufacturing processes.

In 1939, Plumb merged with another tool manufacturer, Heller Brothers, but retained its brand identity. Throughout the mid-20th century, Plumb Tools continued to thrive, adapting to changing market demands and maintaining a strong presence in the hand tool market.

Eventually, the company underwent ownership changes and was acquired by Cooper Industries in the latter part of the 20th century. Despite these changes, the Plumb brand remains recognized for its historical significance and quality tools. Today, vintage Plumb tools are often sought after by collectors and tool enthusiasts.
